The game called heroes of ardania is sully accessible to play. You can create just one heroe from the choices given or name and create all the heroes, but note that several take longer to level up and gain skills because they are for more advanced players. No, your heroes or those of other people do not interact, but you can buy equipment, gain gold from guarding the city or fighiting monsters in the sewers which also gives you the exp needed to lvl up your hero. Then, after a certain amount of lvls, you can gain the option of leaving the city to explore the country and complete even more quests after you unlock a wizzard from his cursed town.
Registeration is totally free and unlike most other games, this one seems to be completely free as I don't see any link for real money donations to support the game and its server.
The steps for creating your hero are naming it, picking what you want to be from the given list in the combo box like dwarf, elf, paladin, priest, gnome and others, picking male/female and then entering the code.
Yes, the code does have an audio link to listen to it and its always a group of 6 numbers that are spoken quite clearly that you type in the edit box and type the numbers all together without spaces in between them. You can hit the thing to listen to the code as many times as you want to make sure you got it right and if after submitting the form, it still doesn't want to work, check your heroe's namee as it might already be used by someone else in the game.
I suggest not buying your weapons/armor right away but to go to the city gates and to do the city patrol one for 5 gold per turn and smaller monsters to attack to gain extra gold. Otherwise, the edit box for doing basic patrol only gives you 3 gold per turn and yes, you get 250 turns per hero to start with, but you gain turns each day up to a max and the more lvls you are the more turns you get.
Do not try to leave the city until you have completed all the sewer quests and got your hero to at least lvl 12 or so though the healer can go a bit earlier like lvl 10 since her points regenerate.
